Interviu cu Smaranda Lazarescu, eleva primei promotii Lauder

“Cred că am câştigat mult datorită modului în care se preda la Lauder faţă de alte licee”

smarandaSmaranda Lăzărescu a terminat Liceul Lauder Reut în prima promoţie, în 2010. A reuşit să-şi organizeze programul cu răbdare şi tact, absolvind cea mai renumită Universitate de Economie din România (ASE), că după, să urmeze Masteratul în Olanda, la una din cele mai prestigioase facultăţi de Agronomie şi Protecţia Mediului din Europa.

Ai absolvit în 2013 Academia de Studii Economice din Bucureşti, Facultatea de Economie Agroalimentară şi a Mediului. Cum a fost examenul de licenţă? Cum a trebuit să te pregăteşti?

S.L.: În primul rând, pregătirea a constat în alegerea unui profesor îndrumător şi contactarea acestuia pentru a avea asigurat un loc în grupa pe care urmă să o alcătuiască. Locurile erau limitate. După confirmarea profesorului de către comisie, au urmat discuţiile pe tema subiectului, cercetările la biblioteca, care nu au fost uşoare şi au constat în multe luni, zile şi ore de citit şi scris. Am păstrat o legătură permanentă cu profesoară, care m-a îndrumat.

În ziua examenului de licenţă - ţin minte - am avut emoţii. Primisem confirmarea că am fost acceptată la master în Olanda, la Wageningen University and Research Center (WUR), dar condiţia era să trec examenul de licenţă cu notă 10. Aflasem că în comisia de licenţă vor fi doi profesori destul de exigenţi, în afară de profesoară mea îndrumătoare. Cred că acest lucru m-a făcut să am emoţii.

După, ai ales să studiezi Masteratul în Olanda, la facultatea cu aceelasi profil din Wageningen. De ce ai ales tocmai facultatea asta?

S.L.: Înainte de a termină studiile de licenţă, îmi făcusem un plan pentru master. Mă orientasem spre Olanda, pentru că ştiam că acolo sunt cele mai bune facultăţi în domeniul mediului. Şi acest lucru mi-a fost confirmat şi la târgul de studii organizat în vara. Am aplicat la mai multe, pentru a fi sigură, printre care şi la Wageningen. Aici, de altfel, îmi doream cel mai mult. Oferta de cursuri era cea mai interesantă, iar WUR este singură facultate care punea accentual numai pe cursuri în domeniile mediului, agriculturii, tehnologiei maritime şi multe altele.

Ce posibilităţi îţi oferă această facultate faţă de cele din România? Cu ce este ea diferită?

S.L.: La Wageningen studiez într-un mediu internaţional. Am cunoscut oameni din aproape toate ţările lumii, cu obiceiurile lor interesante şi… cu mâncarea specifică.

Dotările facultăţii, pentru că este şi un centru de cercetare, sunt cele mai moderne şi în permanentă optimizare. Cred că acest lucru lipseşte în multe facultăţi din România.

Modul de predare este foarte diferit. Profesorul interacţionează cu studenţii şi se pune foarte mare accent pe studiul individual, pe creativitate, pe lucrul în echipa. Cursurile sunt predate pe powerpoint şi materialele de citit nu sunt manuale, ci articole de specialitate scrise de profesorii de la curs, sau de oameni de ştiinţă din toată lumea. La fiecare curs notă este împărţită între un proiect şi examen scris. Cele mai multe examene sunt cu subiecte de sinteză. Mi-a luat ceva timp să mă obişnuiesc cu faptul că profesorii vor să vadă interpretarea ta proprie despre ce ai citit în articole sau ce ai reţinut de la curs. Acest lucru încă nu este aplicat în România, din păcate.

Care sunt materiile tale preferate? Este vreuna inedită, care te-a surprins?

S.L.: Pot spune că în cele cinci luni de când am început masteratul, am avut parte de multe surprize. Mai întâi sistemul, cum am mai spus, dar şi cursurile pe care ni le alegem în fiecare luna, urmate, tot lunar, de examene. Mi-a plăcut foarte mult un curs care în România ţine de Facultate de Urbanism, la Arhitectură şi care aici e considerat esenţial pentru mediu. Nu ştiam la ce să mă aştept când am făcut alegerea. Mi-am dat seama că şi fără cunoştinţe în domeniul arhitecturii sau planificării spaţiale, puteam contribui la lucrul în echipa cu cunoştinţe din economie sau mediu, întrucât cursul era despre calitatea vieţii şi dezvoltarea durabilă în mediul urban, nu departe de subiectul lucrării mele de licenţă (“Planificarea calităţii vieţii din perspectiva dezvotarii durbaile”).

Care este stilul de viaţă de acolo? Diferă cu mult de cel din România?

S.L.: Stau în unul din căminele campusului facultăţii, în oraşul Wageningen. Cred că mai bine l-aş numi orăşel-sătuc, după standardele olandeze. Populaţia este de 35.000 de locuitori, dintre care cei mai mulţi sunt studenţii de la Wageningen. Când am ajuns, acum 5 luni, încă era vara şi nu veniseră toţi colegii. Oraşul era cam pustiu şi majoritatea locuitorilor- oameni cu vârstă de peste 60 de ani. Din cauza asta, este şi foarte liniştit. Iar noaptea, dacă ies în oraş, este pustiu. Toată lumea merge pe bicicletă, de la copiii de grădiniţă până la bunici. Cele mai aglomerate zile sunt cele în care se organizează târgurile din centru (miercurea şi sâmbătă). Atunci, lumea iese la cumpărături şi dacă nu plouă (ceea ce se întâmplă destul de rar!!!) se stă afară la cafenele. Îmi place foarte mult să observ lumea. Ceea ce am remarcat din primele zile este că oamenii de peste 60 de ani sunt foarte activi, fac jogging, merg cu bicicletă, merg la sala (au abonamente chiar şi la centrul sportiv al facultăţii) şi sunt foarte zâmbitori. Asta observ mai puţin sau foarte puţin în Bucureşti.

Cel mai greu cred că este să mă obişnuiesc cu vremea. Mai ales cu furtunile periodice şi cu vântul constant.

Au trecut 4 ani de când ai absolvit liceul Lauder Reut, şi de atunci, ai studiat la o facultate renumită de stat din Bucureşti şi după, la una din străinătate. Care sunt principalele diferenţe pe care le-ai sesizat în tot acest timp dintre aceste instituţii?

S.L.: În afară celor spuse înainte, cred că la Wageningen pun în practică multe lucruri teoretice sau pe care le-am studiat din carte şi la ASE. Cursurile sunt ţinute de mulţi profesori, unii chiar invitaţi din afară Olandei. La unele materii se face un fel de cercetare de teren (field research), în locurile legate de proiectele viitoare.

De ce îţi este cel mai dor din anii de liceu?

S.L.: Am momente când îmi amintesc de anumiţi profesori sau de anumite materii pe care le-am studiat. Cred că am câştigat mult datorită modului în care se preda la Lauder faţă de alte licee. În primul rând, limba engleză şi pe urmă faptul că profesorii aveau răbdare şi chiar stăteau în plus să explice dacă era nevoie. Deşi am fost puţini în clasa, cred că a reprezentat un avantaj.
